Star Achievement Award

Every year Spotlights recognises a cast member who has shown outstanding dedication and talent in our shows.

As you can imagine, it’s a difficult task to choose any particular person from the many people who join your fabulous society.

This year we have chosen a person who has been with the society for a number of years.

They have performed in many shows, including Boogie Nights, The World Goes Round, Spamalot, Funny Girl, The Wedding Singer, Encore and lately Beauty & the Beast.

This person has always been a positive presence on stage, constantly smiling and being a support for their fellow cast members.

It is with the greatest of pleasure that we award the Star Achievement Award to Philippa Sandiford.

The Pauline Holt Award

Stephen & James Hughes-Alty, Peter & Rob McGregor-Forshaw introduced the Pauline Holt award many years ago to recognise the sterling work that is done backstage, off-stage and front of house, without which, the shows would simply not go on.

This year’s winner has been a keen supporter of Spotlights and has recently taken up the reins as Director for CHESS.
It is with great pleasure they have awarded the Pauline Holt trophy to Jacqui Lewis.

NODA Win for Rob Macgregor

Spotlights are affiliated with the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).

Each amateur show performance is visited by the NODA area representative. Their thoughts on the show are integral to the selection process of the annual regional awards, which took place recently.

We are pleased to announce that our very own Rob MacGregor was awarded Best Director of a Musical for "Funny Girl"
at the recent annual NODA awards.

Well done Rob, you deserve it.
